The New Republic's fog of war
The New Republic published an article on Scott Beauchamp controversy. I posted a comment. It went to moderation queue. Don't know if they are going to publish it.
Wow - it's a long story, and frankly, somewhat boring. The conclusion is that you can't stand by the story; in other words, you don't disagree with those who say that Beauchamp made up the facts. In the process, though, you are throwing jabs at Standard, Army, and bloggers. Along with the length, I got a feeling that you are trying to obfuscate the admission. Like a high-school student, caught in smoking pot, tells unrelated stories.
Additionally, there is not a single word about the allegations about *you*: that you asked the Bradley manufacturer misleading questions, that misreported your contacts with the Army, etc. I am sure you know them better than I do. I don't know whether it's true or not, but the fact that you couldn't find a place in 14 web pages to address such allegations do not instill much confidence in what you are saying.
But - thanks for trying. After five months or so - it's about time.
